ABOUT ME
Hello, my name is Carl Otten. I am a senior studying mechanical engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. I am passionate about design and bettering the human experience through technological and social innovation. I embrace challenges and strive to make things work by first understanding their nuances.
MY SKILLS & EXPERTISE
I have a strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles and am proficient in various design software, including SolidWorks, Creo Parametric, and multiple coding languages. I am also skilled in project management and team collaboration, and I have experience working on interdisciplinary projects that require effective communication and coordination.
Leadership roles I have embraced during my time as an undergraduate include:
-
Founder and President of Debate at Iowa State University
-
Treasurer of CMU Debate at Carnegie Mellon University
-
Challenge Coin Competition Team Lead at Lockheed Martin
-
Creator of Informative Discussion Series in partnership with Dietrich College at Carnegie Mellon University
Beyond the roles I explicitly hold, I make an effort to take on additional responsibilities to help guide my teams in course projects.
